About (Biography)

Heidi Bryan, who battled depression and is a suicide attempt survivor, founded Feeling Blue Suicide Prevention Council after losing her brother to suicide.  Heidi served on the Board of Directors for the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention and as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors for SPAN USA. She was also the recipient of the SPAN USA’s Sandy Martin Grassroots Award in 2005. Ms. Bryan developed the booklet, After an Attempt: The Emotional Impact of a Suicide Attempt on Families, which was distributed to every hospital in Pennsylvania. Heidi served as the Chairman of the Pennsylvania Adult/Older Adult Suicide Prevention Coalition, where she organized an annual prevention and awareness event at the State Capitol. She is a QPR Master Trainer, a facilitator for survivor of suicide loss support groups and co-author of Now What Do I Do, a pamphlet to help survivors of suicide attempts, currently in press.  She received her Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Cedar Crest College and is currently living in Neenah, WI with her husband.
